Job Summary:

As the Extended Camp Coordinator, you will supervise and guide our Extended Care programing for campers. You will act as Assistant Site Supervisor for your check-in and check-out location. Your team assembles in the morning, for the beginning of camp, and in the afternoon, for the end of camp. Your job? To ensure care for kids whose working parents need the extra support of extended camp care. Communicate with families to help resolve needs and support field staff. Mentor Teen Interns who help with morning check-in and afternoon check-out. Teach, as needed, within your respective program. Meet with our Teen Interns to coach and provide them feedback and ensure care for campers whose working parents need the support of extended camp time. Communicate with families to help resolve needs and relay information to field staff and assist the Camp Director in logistics. Scheduling can be made somewhat adaptable for the right candidate.

As the Extended Camp Coordinator, you are key to developing our Trackers For Life journey—a program that trains teens, parents, and seniors as outdoor educators and Trackers staff.   • Lead and guide all aspects of the morning and afternoon extended camp program
  • Provide fun, engaging, and safe experiences for campers and co-workers
  • Manage, administer, and run the daily operations of extended camp at your assigned site
  • Develop and teach extended activities that reinforce Trackers skills and culture, and that are safe and fun for kids
  • Help plan and manage intern and extended camp schedules at your site
  • Assist Coordinators with gear and material acquisition
  • Model, maintain, and teach proper gear and tool usage, care, and organizational tidiness
  • Communicate with guardians about needs, accomplishments, and expectations of campers
  • Anticipate and exceed the needs and expectations of Trackers Earth campers and families
  • Assist in leading, training, managing, and evaluating Interns and Leads for your site 
  • Observe and document staff performance evaluations, executing development strategies
  • Communicate and document safety and behavior incidents
  • Keep and safeguard confidential information


  • Completed Vaccinations for COVID-19 (verification required)
  • 2+ years in education or daycare
  • Be Director Qualified with the Colorado Department of Early Childhood Education (we can help you become qualified for this role with the right credentials)
  • Experience with outdoor programs similar to Trackers and/or skills relevant to Trackers programs
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment that reflects Trackers policies and protocols, while managing campers and staff in remote locations with limited support
  • Ability to coordinate, adapt and plan for complex logistics, and be flexible in working with challenges
  • Possess grit, becoming more calm, creative, and proactive when challenged
  • Able to stand, bend, squat, climb, lift (up to 50 lbs), hike on and off trail (up to 5 miles) per day 
  • Trackers Earth completes pre-employment criminal background & references checks 
  • Have the following certifications (or able to complete before starting):
  • CPR/First Aid/Anaphylaxis & Epinephrine Auto-Injector through approved vendors 
  • Food Handlers  
  • Mandated Reporter Training (Offered on PDIS)
  • FEMA/Disaster Preparedness (FEMA - Emergency Management Institute (EMI) | National Preparedness Directorate National Training and Education Division)
  • Immunization Training (Offered on PDIS)
  • Standard Precautions (Trackers has a list of approved vendors)
  • Medication Administration Training Part One and Two (Part One is available on PDIS, Trackers can provide Part Two)
  • Injury Prevention (Offered on PDIS)
  • Playground Safety (Offered on PDIS)
  • 15 hours of site specific and camp specific training as required by the state of Colorado
